Faia is back!

Faia, the female Egyptian Vulture we tagged with a GPS transmitter in 2017, is back in the Douro region after 6 months in Mali. Following the pattern since we started tracking her, Faia left the Douro in September to spend winter in Mali, where there is food and little human disturbance.

As usual, we lost this Egyptian Vulture's signal when she entered the desert, where there's no reception. But on 4th March Faia's signal was back on the move. On 9th March she crossed the Straight of Gibraltar, and on 12th March she arrived in the Douro. Hopefully she'll breed in the region once again, and spend Summer caring for a chick.
