Egyptian Vultures survived the desert

Two of our Egyptian Vultures, Douro and Rupis, have resurfaced after crossing the Sahara desert. Douro, who started migrating South on 29th August, and Rupis, who left almost a month later, are already in Mali, where they usually spend a large part of the winter. Now it’s time for them to rest and recover.

We’re still anxiously awaiting news from Faia, who we haven’t heard from since 6th September. At that point, she was in northern Algeria. We hope to see her dot on the map again soon!

> For more about Douro and Rupis’ trips, read the story on VCF’s website.

> Why do we lose birds' signal sometimes? We explain in this story about Rupis, the 1st Egyptian Vulture tagged in the project.
